The Holiday Season has a rich musical tradition.

Nate Ginsberg ( www.mrnatemusic.net )is a gifted music teacher and teaches about 100 young students how to read music and play the piano.

This year’s show was over 6 hours long. Below is an excerpt with our grandson Dylan and his first grade classmates playing traditional Holiday Music.

Christmas in Sacramento

Another family get together with Scott & Jenn as hosts. Joining us were Andrew, Gabrielle and Troy and grandmother Jackie, all the way from New York. Christmas Eve dinner was at Scott’s Seafood Grill. We followed that by making cookies for Santa and Devon write a note to Santa. In the morning, after all the gifts were opened we had a great brunch.

To celebrate the Holiday Season and get some experience performing before a live audience, Mr. Nate, Dylan’s music teacher arranged for a Holiday Music show at the Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo.

Fairmont Hotel – Gingerbread House

Perhaps this is a new tradition in the making. The Fairmont Hotel built a Gingerbread House at the entrance to their Laurel Court Restaurant. We took Brinley & Devon for lunch, a tour of the Gingerbread House and a walk in Chinatown.

Making Christmas Cookies

One of the traditions for Christmas Eve is the making of cookies for Santa. In this video, Brinley, Devon and Josh prepare cookies for Santa and cut up carrots for Santa.

Holiday Ice Skating

To celebrate the season, many parents take their children to Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco to enjoy some ice skating. As the schools let out for the Christmas holidays, it is a perfect time to enjoy a family outing.

Xmas in Sacramento

Xmas means we journey to Sacramento where our son Scott, wife Jennifer and three grand children, Brinley, Devon and Joshua live. Also near by in Davis is older son Andrew and his wife Gabrielle. Our plans were cut short a little because Danice’s mother had medical problems we needed to deal with. We had planned to go up and share Christmas Eve. Instead we went up for Xmas lunch and the afternoon.
